Is SLIing two video card worth it?

I'm planning on buying an EVGA GTX 560 Ti for part of my new build. I was wondering if it is worth buying two of them to SLI.

  1. I would say yes if you are doing it because of gaming you will increase the fps in every game and the amount will depend on the game. Some games are a lot better off with two cards because they are so graphics card intensive like BF3.
So if you can afford it by all means get two.
  2. Pretty comprehensive review with MANY GPU's including SLI and O/C.

    Tom's BF3 review doesn't show a SLI 560TI but assume 180% scaling for 2 560TI's and they will beat a single 580.
You will need an 800 W PSU if you O/C the GPU's and the CPU. Well, depending on whose power consumption numbers you believe.
  3. if it's going to cost you 400 in cards + having to get a decent psu (160 odd) id seriously think about a 7970 or 7950 instead in my experience 560's can get hot and loud in sli iv'e seen some that arent but ive seen plenty that are

    900mhz cards and 4.3ghz on a 2600k can be run from a decent 620w PSU like a Corsair HX620.
  5. I would defiantly suggest you sli them. two 560 ti's has more performance than one 580.
