Hello! I'm a student building his first gaming PC(or PC period). I've done some reading on the function of various parts(looked at benchmarks...etc), and have decided that I want to rely on the following build(the high-end gaming computer):

However, I don't want to water-cool. This being my first time building a computer I decided I wanted to keep things simple. I'm also not particularly interested in over-clocking at the moment. That's not to say I won't consider water-cooling or over-clocking at a later date, but not now.

Given that I don't want to water-cool, I've been wondering what to replace the water-cooling in the build with(would I need a heat sink?) or whether I actually need to replace it at all if I get the Azza Hurrican Full tower(which has 8 fans). Also, I don't think this would affect the power-supply requirements of the build, but I'm not completely sure. Hence why I'm here :)  .

If it's of any relevance, my gaming pursuits will primarily be Diablo III, Starcraft II, Civ5, Sims possibly an MMO like guild wars 2 or SWTOR, League of Legends, Tribes: Ascend, the Witcher II..etc. Real Time Strategy, Grand Strand Strategy, First Person Shooter, RPG and MMORPG.

I'm also open to any suggestions on improvements. My budget range is ~$1700 though I'd be willing to go a little higher(or lower!) if there's significant improvement/little to no decrease.

ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 Intel Z68 Motherboard

Intel Core i7-2600K or Intel Core i3770K "Ivy Bridge."

I may or may not get Ivy Bridge depending price and availability(from what I've seen it looks like it will be comparable to the i7-2600K and offer a significant upgrade in GPU performance).

Go for the Noctua nh d14. Quite possibly one of the best CPU tower coolers, with extremem performance and silence.

Double check that sound card. I think that's a PCI card. Your MB does have 2 x PCI slots, however why buy a new PCI sound card ? PCI bus is going going gone. You want PCI-e.
