Hi, I don't know a whole lot about computers, hardware wise at least, and I have been wanting to upgrade my graphics card to play some of the newer games out there for some time now. I've heard all these things like some graphics card aren't compatible with certain computers and other stuff like that. I have a custom computer so its not like I can just look it up in the manual. My price range is around ~$100.

This is my current graphics card: RADEON X600/X550 Series

And all my computer Specs:

OS: Windows XP professional 32bit
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow
(2 CPUs)
Memory: 2048MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0

Depending on your power supply you may have to start out with this card if the power supply is around 300w.

EVGA 01G-P3-1441-KR GeForce GT 440 1024MB (Fermi) DUAL DVI PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card
$79.99

If you have a 400w power supply then you could consider this card;

XFX HD-667X-CNF3 Radeon HD 6670 2GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
$89.99

No it can be as low as 200w. It depends on the Pc builder and what was put in there. Can you look it should be on the side or the end of the psu.

at any rate you wont want to push anything faster than a 5770/6770 through that rig anything faster might give it a proper bottleneck
