hey guys i am using an intel p4 ht 3.00Ghz processor and i have a pcie 1.0 x16 slot.
suggest me the best graphics card that can deliver the most perfomance.
i have found some
1. nvidia gt 440 fermi 1gb gddr5
2. ati radeon hd 5670 1gb gddr5(pcie 2.1)
3. nvidia gts 460 1gb gddr5
4. nvidia 9500 gt 1gb
5. nvidia gt 240
6. ati hd 5770 1gb gddr5
which is best suited for me, suggest me if know more, i am just a rookie.
Then you should be all set to get either the 240 or 440.
i looked at few benchmarks and found that ati 5670 scores 1164, while gt 440 scores 835 only but both are almost at same price? why does this happen? is hd 5670 good for me?
its pcie 2.1 does that cause problems on my pcie 1.0?

a new 450-500 psu (if your psu is as old as your cpu) and gt 240 1 gb gddr5/ radeon hd 5570/6570 1 gb - whichever is the cheapest.
cards like gtx 460, 5770 might be bottlenecked by the cpu.

does the gts 450 1gb work on my pc? since i could buy it now and upgrade my pc later, so the card wont be a total awste on my new system. So will it work on my pc?

you didn't mention a gts 450 before...
gts 450 is now two generations old. while it might provide decent performance for your current pc (i think your cpu will bottleneck the gts 450), it might not be a good card compared to what is available today at gts 450's price level (newegg @ $113-140 for gddr5 version). i found a his radeon hd 6790 going for $125.
the gts 450 requires a 6 pin pcie power connector. if your psu is too old, it might not be able to support the gts 450.
when you upgrade your pc later, you might have to upgrade your gts 450 to keep up with the current gaming cards' performance.
