Helo low FPS on games

My specs

AMD Phenom X4 970

Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 non ti 1gb

8GB of ddr3 ram


Had my computer since christmas been running fine but past few weeks when ever i play a game i can rearly hear the fans they r usualy like sillent and the game lags somtimes

Mafia 2

GTA IV

If any one could help me fix this problem or explain it i would love that

download msi afterburner and coretemp and check your temps when gaming.
what power supply do you have?

your asking your computer to play horrible console ports. you need all the cpu power you can get and more then 1gb or vram and probably a better gpu.

my rig even has problems with gta4

It sounds like your fans are being used to much by the card. In MSI Afterburner you can controll your fans by setting way points at certain temps to increase the fan rpms as the temps get hotter.

Mafia 2 is very well ported. Runs locked at 60 fps on my rig no dips maxed

I get like 30fps in GTA4 unless I overclock my CPU something awful. Pathetic.

I have a 700W power supply and i could play games find until about a week ago no im geting lags

One thing for sure if your cards get hot to hot the first sign of being hot is laging. Next it will be freezing or crash to desktop. You have to watch your temps. You also need good air flow in your case.

Since Christmas have you opened it up and cleaned all the dust out of it. I have to do mine once a month and depending where you live maybe twice a month. If you could give us your temps. That way we can see if you are running hot.
