Fan Speeds

Corsair Mid Tower 2 x 120mm front fans, 1 x 120mm exhaust.

Hi, the core fan for the i5 2500k was always running 2000 rpm's, very loud but 45-51 c. during BF3. Installed the cooler master hyper 212 pro 1 fan, cpu is 32c idle, core is 35c. Playing BF3 the cooler master fan runs 1900 rpm's and the cpu is 45-51c. Is that fan speed normal? I used the thermal paste it came with, not sure if it makes any difference.

depends on your fan profile of your mb bios. the new heat sink alway work better then the old ones..you can adjust the fan speed down to 600. on this cpu fan. the load temps are great. anytime you can keep the load temps at 50c or less is good.

i have a hyper 212 plus cooler,i found the stock fan quite loud when the temps increase,i fitted a good quality noctua fan and its super quiet now

I will look at that. Wondering what to do with the remaining fan plugs on the board, they are 3 pin. Also if I add another hyper 212 for push will it be the same speed and noise under stress?

If you plug the second fan into the same fan header, the yes. Otherwise it'll spin at a different RPM. You'll want to get identical fans with a Y splitter if you opt for Push+Pull.
