It is better to wait as your build still a few months away...

I am sure a lot of experts on this forum would gladly offer their best piece of advice....

You may want to consider

a 32 gb DDR3 RAM and a 128 GB SSD...
I reckon that you would be cutting a little fine with a 64 GB SSD.
2 X 2TB raid 0 and a NAS RAID 5 for data integrity/parity...even DROBO is a damn good choice...

Agree.....isn't the Sandybridge has 2 of the 8 cores (i7 3930K for example?) locked up? Intel is bound to unlock them at some time in future...that will get 8 cores....

Ivy Bridge would probably be nice as it is a 22 nm...It remains to be seen how much the 22 nm would improve the performance...
