ok Im thinking of building a new pc and now im choosing a monitor and im confused. So i want to get HD 7970 (i prefer AMD cards) and Samsung S27A950D and play 3D gaming. but now im reading about 3d on the net and getting confused. :pt1cable:

SO can someone explain few points

Is it worth getting a NVIDIA card with a monitor which supports nvidia 3d vision? and Why?
Does HD 7970 support 3D?

I do not believe it is worth it to get an Nvidia 3D and supported screen. It is horibly expensive and it is mostly confined to Nvidia tech. They can rarely cross platform(blu ray for example).

The HD7970 does have AMD HD3D support.

I do not have a 3d Setup myself because I am waiting out the standardizing of it. Not worth it just yet. I say get the screen and card if you are burning for 3D.

looks like amd has their HD3D but its not as good as nvidias but tridef 3D is available for amd

AS for monitors looks like samsung monitor is better than those who support nvidia 3d.

Gonna read more stuff about tridef 3d :D
