Hello,

My computer is under performing. I am not new at building PC but i must say that ever since i graduated from college and started a family I can't keep up with the tech that well. This is my set up:

VGA MSI|R6790-2PM2D1GD5 HD6790 1G R
MB MSI P55-GD80 1156 RT
CPU INTEL|CORE I5 750 2.66G R
MEM 2Gx2|OCZ OCZ3P16004GK R
PSU ROSEWILL|RX850-S-B 850W RT

My FPS on BF3 in the lowest setting stays around 40 and drops down to 9 or 5 ( power point style) and on D3 i play with a friend with a computer that i s not as good as my and his FPS is much better. I don't know whats going on, I installed all drivers and BIO are up to date. Anyone has any idea on why that is?

HELP!:)

what os you running?

also check for background applications.

have you got windows updates on (switch it on if not).
check device manager to see if you have any yellow exclamation marks showing.
do you run spybot, malwarebytes and/or virus scans regularly?
download auslogics disk defrag and defrag your disk.
run msconfig and check startup applications.

list goes on.

try that lot and get back to us.

As stated above, make sure nothing is running besides stuff you use to game. Also I think the clock speed is tad low for BF3, I know Intel is killer when it comes to core for core performance, but the Ghz still does matter in certin things. A small OC to 3.0 might make things smoother.

I figure out the problem. Apparently one of my PCI x16 is not working, so by changing the video card to another slot worked.

Thank you for all your help!!
