Corsair H60 - change it ?

Hello all,

I'm looking at buying the following system as an update for my gaming machine. My old Quad-core Q9650 with a GTX 285 seems to struggle a bit with SWTOR and a certain beta I tried. I was going to upgrade just the GPU, but I was told without an i5 or i7 CPU it wouldn't be worth it.

So what do you all think of the rig below? Any danger points? I've checked reviews for most of the components and they seem okay, though I see some people saying the Corsair H60 isn't a good cooler, and perhaps a Noctua NH-d14 would be better.

I've never built a system myself and I'm not inclined to if I can get one at a decent price. The rig below is $1860 or so Australian... What do you all think? Red flags or go go go?

gaming? no need for a 6 core cpu...waste of money mate.
Go for LGA 1155...Z77/Z68 board with an i5 2500k/3570k IVY next week release. PCcasegear should have it up for preorders very soon. (aussie too)
Your GPU is a low end...if you were prepared to spend 600bucks on a CPU you can save 400 bucks and put it back into the GPU. Get a AMD 7950/70 or GTX 680.
Get an Antec 750w or corsair 750w. Coolermaster dont make the best PSUs...
Don't get the 320 Series...that is old. Intel 330 Series 60GB or 120GB is good.

Your rig looks very good. One thing that I would change is I would go for Windows 7 Professional (Retail Version). Other than that, excellent build IMHO. What monitor did you say you have?

How? you dont even need x79 for gaming, please don't make him buy something he will never see full use of xD

The monitor I'm using is a Samsung SyncMaster P2350, 2ms I think.

I have read a couple of people's builds and seen this 2500 model mentioned a few times now... people seem to like it!

Thanks for the input so far all. I'll dig into the release details for Ivy and figure out where I'm at.

6 core cpu and a HD6770 for gaming?? :o  go with i5 2500k(or IB on next week) and a

better GPU.. Also Z77/Z68 mobo will save more for a better GPU.. Also change psu to

something like corsair, Seasonic, Antec.
