Control fan speed of 3 pin case fans?

I've done a lot of google searching and I'm getting mixed answers.. I'm hoping to get a clear answer here.

I have a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 motherboard with 4 case fans and 1 cpu fan. All of my fans are in my motherboard except for one that is in my power supply.

My CPU fan is 4 pins and I'm led to believe that it's speed is already adjusted automatically. My other 4 fans run on max speed all the time.

I just want to know what methods I can use to control speed automatically or manually, without doing any mods. I hear I can install dials to control fan speeds in one of my expansion bays? Is there any software that can control fan speed with voltage with my motherboard?
