I bought a used computer from a pawn shop. I had to buy a hard drive for it. Now it's telling me no boot file hame received. what does this mean?

  1. The Operating system (Windows) lives on the hard disk. You bought a new hard drive. When the computer looked for the operating system (windows) on the hard drive it could not find it.

    You will need to install an operating system on your PC. A copy of windows costs $100. Depending on how good your new computer is you may be better off returning it and getting a computer with the operating system installed.
