Two way Sli gtx 580 with another gtx 580 for physix

hello,
i have an asus p8z68v pro gen3 that only supports two way sli. i also have another gtx 580 and wanted to know if i could use it only for physix.
I also have a 1250 watt Gold psu, is that enough for all three of those?

A 580 for PhysX would be a total waste.....a GT 220 is more than enough to handle PhysX

either sell ur 3rd 580, buy a 220 and spend the rest on Beer

or change your mobo for something that supports 3 way SLI

I wouldn't even bother with the 220 mate, a single GTX580 handles all PhysX operations flawlessly let alone two of the cards. Just sell the third and use the money on something else. With the 220 you would more than likely notice a decrease in performance compared with the two GTX 580's

The 220 is not a good dedicated PhysX card (not enough streaming processors). And, of course, no additional Physx processing is necessary with GTX 580's in SLI.

Actually I would get a new motherboard to go 3way SLI. You'll also eliminate microstuttering that way.

It's actually such an obvious response, sometimes we tend to overcomplicate things.
extra video card = beer
