Hi,

Just wondering, I have run out of PCI slots on my motherboard and need to get a bigger one! The one I want has the sam CPU socket as the one I have now, is it possible to remove the CPU and put it onto a new motherboard?

Thanks
Thomas

if its the same socket u can
handle the cpu with care not to damages its pins

It depends, He may not have to re install anything but the new Mobo drivers. I went threw 3 Mobos DFI/Asus/ now ASRock with the same install of windows, never had 1 problem. But going from an HP Mobo to an ASRock didn't work.

I would back your stuff and then just try it, set up the bios and then try to boot into windows.
