So I'm looking to build a computer. But after having the most shittiest laptop for over 4 yrs, I wan't the best I can get. I'm aiming for something that can handle anything especially 3D support for videos and gaming. I just wan't it to be a incredible computer. So is there anything that I really don't need, especially the CPU?

Also one more thing. Would it be smart to get a liquid cooling case? I've heard people saying they can break but I've never seen this happened or actually have heard anyone saying it DID happen.

To follow up on what GhislainG said: Corsiar makes a pretty mean Solid State Drive, i plan on getting a 120 GB GT series for $215 , heres the link:

http://www.corsair.com/ssd/force-series-gt-ssd/force-series-gt-120gb-sata-3-6gbps-solid-state-hard-drive.html

Its also SATA III which is damned fast.

About your configuration, i would downsize the CPU to an i5 2500K or the new series coming out soon of the i5. Sure you lose 2 cores but saves hundreds of dollars in the process, and most games cant utilize the hyper threading anyways. Trust me on this and look on Newegg here and see the reviews:

The storage can be a hard disk, but an SSD will make the system boot faster, etc. You can't build an incredible computer with a single 7200 RPM hard disk. If I was spending that much money on a system, I'd get a 250GB or larger SSD and an external hard disk for backups.

I will add one thing however, get the 16GB or atleast 12 so the RAM can help the CPU kick out better frame rates, you could either do that or get an upgraded (more MHz like 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance with 8 or 12 GB, but warning...if you get any higher than that it gets expensive quick... about $400 too expensive haha

I could careless about boot speed though.

So a quad-core i5 2500K is better or just about the same as a 3930K? I hope it is because it's about $400 cheaper.

The price of the i7 series far outstands its performance increase while being used as a gaming PC, you would get a little better performance, but not enough for a price that high, its just a recommendation but i would definitley go with the i5 unless you have the extra $400 to put out, i think theres a topic on this somewhere, search it on here, its bound to show up

However if you create video games for a living or run lots of super threaded programs then the i7 is for you, all a 6-core has over a 4-core is it can run more threads (open applications in a single or multiple program(s)) at a time at faster speeds but 99.9% of games like Skyrim and Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, ect. use on avg 4-cores unless they come out with an update that allows the game to utilize all 6, even then, it takes more time to get the connections through the extra cores and inevitably slowws the frame rate down and performance as well, thats why alot of people choose the i5 for their gaming rigs, Hoped this helped some
