Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards Upgrade from Radeon 5770 to Geforce XXX ?

Hey guys, I need to buy a new graphics card as my 5770 died recently. I'm totally rusty when it comes to nvidia as I have been in the AMD camp for quite a while now ever since I replaced my 8800GTS with a 5770, however I'm so sick of the 2D crashing that I'm going back to nvidia.

What would be a decent upgrade from a 5770? I'm a budget gamer so I will not get the latest and greatest mind you ;)

Here are specs for the rest of the rig

- Corsair VX 550W power supply
- AMD Athlon II x4 640 (3ghz)
- ASUS M4A77TD Motherboard
- 4GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM
- Radeon 5770 (now dead)
- Windows 7 64bit

I game in 1080p. Thanks a bunch!

i would suggest 6850 or 6870.any thing more will face bottleneck with your cpu.6850 is not a big upgrade but still noticeable-

If you go Nvidia wait for the 6 series, if not go for the 560TI

just overclock your cpu to avoid bottleneck then get an single high end card like gtx 5xx or hd 69xx or hd 78xx after launch.
