Hello people of the System forums. So I have been wanting to get a new CPU fan to replace my stock (it is loud loud loud) and i found one to seem to be the one.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

How ever i have run into a conflict, I checked my mother board has a 4 pin CPU fan connecter and not a 3 pin like the fan I have found requires. So my question is will it fit with one pin hanging lose.

My Specs are in the signature.

Thank You!

Yes, the fan connector will fit over the the 4-pin connector on the motherboard; one pin on the board will be un-connected.

To further explain:
3pin connector pinouts are ground, +12V and tachometer.
4pin connector adds a pin for speed control (pulse width modulation)

Also to note; you can still control your fan speed on a 3pin connector. It can be controlled with adjusting voltages if your bios supports it.
