Hi Folks,

So I'm not at all a complete noob when it comes to pc building, but I'm at the end of my rope with this one and was hoping someone might be able to help, or confirm some of my thoughts.

Firstly my specs are in my sig. I will detail the two main issues I am experiencing:

1) Ok, I tested with CCC settings: default clock speeds (925 / 1375) and 0% power. I ran Furmark with GPU-z open and found my clock speeds were between 756 MHz and 844 Mhz on the core clock, memory is 1375 solid. I had to boost the power to +7% to get my GPU at 924MHz stable (for some reason it wont hit 925). This worried me a bit...

2) Then while playing games my PC freezes and I need to reboot...sometimes. It's not always the same freeze. Sometimes the PC will freeze and not return to desktop, sometimes it will. Sometimes it will reset the CCC settings, sometimes not. Even stranger the freezes seem to be more common in WoW than say AVP or other games. My GPU load is WoW is about 30%... whereas AVP hits 90-100%.

I bought the PSU and the GPU pretty close to one another so I'm really not sure if it's an issue with the PSU not giving enough power, or the GPU not recieving it. Could it maybe be anything else?

Regarding temps and drivers, I assure you everything is as good as it can be, all up to date with stupid amounts of airflow, 73 Degress 100% load on GPU.

Please help, or if anyone knows a forum that might specialise in these kinds of issues that would be appreciated too.

Thanks
Joe

Ok so after a few weeks of this rubbish I found the problem - in case anyone else has this issue. I thought for sure it wasn't a driver issue as I had installed, reinstalled, driver swept everything 3-4 times. I found there was still .dll and .bat files that were not being removed by driver sweep from my old 5870 that must have been conflicting with my 7970. I manually deleted these and installed drivers from the CD. My voltages and frequencies are now stable in gpu-z at 100% load. Amazing the difference a few files can make.... So far so good :)
