I'm doing my first desktop build for my home recording studio.I'm doing it little at a time because I have to wait to sell equipment to pay for it.I'm trying to keep the cost down,but not at the expense of inferior components.Here's what I have so far. TOTAL = 1,887.99 More HDD later.I am only going to use this computer for DAW only,no web,no MS works,no games nothing but audio editing and recording and lots of tracks ,plug ins and Vst"s and of course Midi too.Any advice would be much appreciated.Hope I posted this right,Im new to this site.Thanks a lot.

go with 2500K cpu - it is as fast as you can possibly use, I7 is a waste of money
use 64 bit OS
gSkill is junk in my experience - Crucial is quality
Gigabyte rocks - good choice, although I like z68 for the money
