My early 2006 Macbook Pro finally pixelated out - meaning after it is on for a few minutes, the screen pixelates and it is frozen. I have SMC fan controller cranked but it is just shot. Seems like the Graphics card finally died.

My lady has a similar early 2006 MBP but it only has 1GB ram and 100GB HD space and I migrated as much as I could (from my 250GB HD) but this isn't enough space.

I am tight on money so buying a new laptop isn't really an option. Does it make more sense to bring my old MBP to teckserve and have a new GPU put in or buy a GB of RAM for the shared laptop and just use as little HD space as possible.

Thanks in advance!
