Okay so im looking to build my first computer but a friend suggested some parts i dont really have much of a price limit but dont want to go overboard but heres what i'm looking at so far:

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H (Not to sure if i should change this or not) also could put a ASUS Rampage IV Gene Intel X79 into it
Processor - Intel Core i7 2600K (Probally wont build until ivy bridge is released so will most likely change this)
CPU cooling - Corsair Hydro Series H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler with 2 extra 120mm fans added
RAM - Corsair CML8GX3M4A1600C9 Vengeance LP 2x4GB DDR3
HDD - Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB 6Gb/s SATA3 (Now this im really not sure about i dont know much about HDD's so some help on this would be appreciated)
Optical Disk - ASUS BC-12B1ST 12X Blue-ray Combo
Video card - ASUS ENGTX580 DCII/2DIS/1536MD5 Geforce GTX580 1536M Or a EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX580 SC 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-E (Which one is better)
Sound card - ASUS Xonar DS 7.1 Channel PCI Sound Card
Case - CoolerMaster Cosmos II Ultra Tower Or CoolerMaster Stormtrooper (Now will the H100 fit into either of these with the 4 fan push/pull i want)
Power Supply - Corsair AX650 Gold Professional Series

If theres anything you think i should change/add please tell me :) also if this is in the wrong forum im sorry also i do a lot of gaming/video editing

What's the purpose of this build? Gaming I assume?

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77 series or Z77 Sabertooth
Processor: 2500k or equivalent
CPU: 212 EVO or Noctua D14
RAM: Fine
HDD: Fine, you could get a SSD for blazing fast performance though
Disk: Sure
Video Card: 7950 or 7970. A 7970 (Sapphire) is 480$ right now, amazing deal.
Sound Card: How much do your speakers cost.
Case: Cosmos 2 is so overkill. Stormtrooper or HAF 932/922!
PSU: Great PSU.
