Will Pcie 2.0 work in a Pcie 3.0 slot?

Im getting a Pcie 2.0 card and my motherbaord only has 2 pcie 3.0 x16 slots [I will upgrade to 2 way sli in the future] im just wondering if the pcie 2.0 cards will fit and work in the pcie 3.0 slots with 2 card or 1 card

Well your PCIe "3.0" slots are 2.1 slots unless you somehow have an Ivy Bridge CPU. And yes, it will work fine. PCIe is backward and forward compatible.

Yes it will. Even though the 3.0 is 3rd Gen it still has to accept 2nd Gen cards. Untill one day it will be obsolete but for now it will work. Good luck to ya
