Graphic card replacement

Need to get my old desktop PC running so I can access files but the graphics card is dead - only static fuzz on monitor. Monitor checks out fine. Dead card is ABIT R9600XT. Any ideas on sourcing a compatible card please.

Thank you for your info.

It is, as you rightly guessed, is an AGP card. I purchased an AGP8X ATI Radeon X1650Pro which I was assured was compatible but will not work in this PC.

It has a SOLEX SL-K8N-RL motherboard with an AMD CPU. The supplier of the ATI graphics card insists it is compatible and may need to update the BIOS. That is another issue and not easy to find these days!

Not sure if you need any more details but willing to pass on anything that will progress my cause!

What interface is that card? I'm guessing that's an AGP card (not PCI-E). If so, your options are pretty limited - I'd recommend this Radeon 4650 AGP:

Basically, you're gonna overpay for a new AGP card. You could try to find a used AGP card off a site like ebay for <$50 if you don't need a permanent solution and want to pench pennies. If you want a more permanent solution, I think that 4650 is a good bet.

If you literally don't need the graphics card for anything other than displaying windows, you could get a $30 FX 5200 (it's a crazy weak card, but it's cheap!) here:
