hello sirs. i really need opinions from you guys. heres my SIMPLE scenario:

im planning to buy a new video card cause i cant wait to play bf3.
maybe 6950 or 560 ti gpu

now i heard new amd and nvidia cards are coming out soon, maybe april? i really cant wait that long.
My question is: Is it a smarter move to wait for the new releases? is it WORTH the wait?

its really that simple but im having headaches just thinking which is best for me, so i need your opinions about this. i hope you guys can help me decide. thanks.

New AMD cards are already out, but only the 7950 and 7970 which start from $450. If you want to spend less, you will have to wait for the 7870/7850 which should be coming out soon. Otherwise, you'll have to go for the current-gen cards.

no one knows about the cards like hd 7000 series and 600 series which is not release yet some of the cards like hd 7970 or hd 7950 is released now but no need to go from $200 to $400.

for gaming and higher resolution hd 6950 will be slightly better and in overclocking gtx 560ti will be better but in my opinion you should go with hd 6950 because its good in higher resolution gaming and uses less power then gtx 560ti.

i read a lot of good things about 6950 but im afraid this card will be outdated next year cause of the new releases coming :/

btw, which are you more excited about, nvidia's 600 series or amd's 7800?

no the hd 6950 will not be outdated if u fill after buying that this is not working good then cf it or change it to an high end single gpu but in my opinion it will work for about 2 years easily.

and for excitment i m excited about the nvidia 600 series more because the hd 7xxx series two cards have been launched thats why.:)

now im thinking if i would just upgrade to 7950 since its newly out and still part of the amd 7000 series but i read a lot that its price/performance is not worth it. i mean 7950 costs double of 6950 here in my place maybe i would just save more? or crossfire a 6950? what dya guys think? is 7950 worth its price? im only gaming with 1 22" 1080p monitor and would like to play at ultra with decent fps.

don't need a 7950 for 1080p monitor unless you want to max everything.

mann i cant wait to buy a new gpu but these rumours about the 7800 series being better price/performance and the new kepler cards( they say its even better!) tears my decision making part of the brain apart! i personally think 6950 would suffice me right now because its best bang for the buck they say, but will the 6950 be able to perform future games in the next 2 years? what if the rumour about the nvidia 600 cards being faster and cheaper is true and i bought a 6950 now, do you think its a MAJOR price/performance leap difference? cause if its just little bit i can live with that and definitely buy a 6950 right away.

then im back at 6950 cause thats where my budget is. but if 7870 delivers, only time can tell.. if its 2 weeks before release, i can wait. if a month, maybe.. im just so eager to hear new news about the upcoming cards. nvidia saying they are disappointed about the first 7000 releases seems doubtful cause they havent introduced any 600 cards yet, imho..

i can conclude that i can wait for a month, if 7870 will be released by then and reviews will be positive... then i can wait for it... but if nvidia releases 600 series card for reviews this month and gets a lot of praises then i can wait for 2 months for official release..

that said, i will wait for a month maximum. thanks for your opinions and infos guys.
