Working/light gaming 600-750$ PC

I would like some help building a new pc as my old Dell dimension 9200 is about to die (5 years old).
I don’t know much about parts anymore, since the last PC I built goes back to 2003 so please bear with me.

I am a graphic designer so I need something that will be able to multitask smoothly between photoshop - illustrator - indesign at the same time with multiple tabs of web browser opened.

Also, I've been waiting for diablo III for a few years now, so a machine that will run that game smoothly falls into my criteria.
A priority for me is that it runs cool, no overheating. I’m willing to sacrifice a bit of power for a cooler machine.

Approximate Purchase Date: this month
Budget Range: 700-750$ (canadian)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: graphic design, web browsing, movies, light gaming (diablo 3)
Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers
Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
Country: canada
Parts Preferences: none
Overclocking: no
SLI or Crossfire: no
Monitor Resolution: between 1920x1080, 1920x1200

Additional Comments: a quiet and cool machine good for multitask, and something to display good colors on a dell ultrasharp U2410.
I'm open to AMD though I don't know how good they are nowadays vs Intel

here is what I came up with :

SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16
ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Samsung by Seagate Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
COOLER MASTER Hyper TX3 RR-910-HTX3-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" 92mm CPU Cooler

price : 826.92$ id like to reduce to around 700-750 if you guys can help, also, is the cooler a necessary evil if I don't want my room to heat during the summer ?

thanks !

PS. : sorry for the bad english, im not a native speaker.

More about working light gaming
  1. If you're not OCing, drop the i5-2500k to an i5-2400k and MAYBE the MOBO to an H67.
  2. thanks for the quick answer, could you link the h67 mobo as I have no idea which one it is :P
  3. after a quick search I found a list of those H67 motherboards but they seem to lack the 1600 ddr3 speed

Is there a low cost motherboard that will have 1600 speed for the ddr3 and good features across the board ?
