I wanted to know which one of these would perform better for under $$500 (that includes S&H)

Which one is better overall?

I like your second selection better ( though it lacks a PSU so it'll be above 500). Not a big AMD guy but there seems to be less issues with the Phenoms. I would consider going with a better name (=more reliable) Ram and 8gbs but you don't have much room in the budget for that.
