7970, defaulting to smaller display size on monitor

Hey guys i just installed a new sapphire powered Radeon 7970. Once I installed the drivers with the provided CD my computer reset and rebooted with a default screen size smaller than the monitors capable projection size (a one inch black border around the edge of the "displayed screen"). I have the resolution set to the max and have tried lesser resolutions. The screen is a 24" LG 1080P monitor.

Any suggestions?

never use the provided cd, go and download the latest version from the amd website, this may fix your issue.

Download the latest version of the driver and go to the catalyst control centre. You should be able to find 'set display size' or something there, which should fix this issue.
