The mobo is 45C+ and showing a temperature warning. Should I be worried?

Are you saying your motherboard is reporting a temperature warning when the cpu is only at 42 C? if that is the case, don't worry, just set the warning threshold higher.

If it is reporting a motherboard temp aka one of the Bridges north or south, you should be worried, ok, I just looked at your pics, shoulda done that earlier. But yeah, I would be worried, not like grossly worried. But that temp is a about 10 degrees c higher than normal.

Two things you can do, remove the heatsink, and replace the thermal paste with something not crappy and generic after cleaning the old crap off with Isopropyl alcohol. Number two, if it is passiveley cooled increase airflow, either directly with a small fan, or increase case air flow. Although because of your regular cpu temps, I doubt that it is a case flow problem.

Oh, I also wouldn't try to overclock on your board, if you could post what type of board it is, you might be able to get more specific help.
