ASUS Radeon 6850 on 500w power supply?

It would run without a single issue!

Any reason why you would limit yourself to a 6850 with that PSU? I had a similar question and learned that a 500W PSU could handle a much more power hungry card than a 6850.

You're fine. A 6850 and an average system will probably only take not much more than 350W-400W.

after all is said and done its 39.99 for 600watt modular 80 plus

it should be ok it will run on your psu even it can run a hd 6870 which needs 2 pcie connector and more power then hd 6850. 

A 380w Antec Earth watts can run a 6850 as seen in the Tom's Hardware system builder marathons.
