Getting girlfriend a gaming laptop

So here is the story. My girlfriend is in the market for a laptop around the 1k money range. She's stuck on the idea of buying one from a well known site like Dell, HP or Toshiba. So building one isn't an option.
That being said, I am not up to date with what is considered good for a laptop. So I was hoping you guys could give me your opinion.

My girlfriend will be playing World of Warcraft and Star wars the old republic on this laptop. She does not care about playing at the highest settings, but medium settings at least would be nice.

Here are the specs

Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM processor 2.2 GHz (3.1 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology), 6MB L3 Cache

Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit, SP1

6GB DDR3 1333MHz SDRAM (4096MB+2048MB)

500GB HDD (7200rpm, Serial-ATA)

1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560M with NVIDIA® Optimus™ Technology

If you guys need anymore info let me know.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Since Ivy Bridge is just about to come out, don't get that laptop because it's still SB.

Rather, get this laptop:

Asus G55VW-DS71

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/asus-G55VW-DS71-intel-...

Specs:

Intel Core i7 3610QM 2.3 Ghz
12 GB DDR3-1600 Mhz SDRAM
750GB HDD (7200 rpm)
2GB GDDR5 nVIDIA Geforce GTX 660M

Only costs $1450.

that one is a bit overkill on price (50% over budget!)

I' even say one of the upcoming $700-800 Trinity lappies could do well too

The laptop you spec is great. It'll outrun most desktops.

Get a laptop cooler with it. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...) It'll throw too much heat to be on your lap when running. And anything that blocks the bottom of the laptop will cause instant overheat when gaming -- no playing on the bed.

Make sure she is OK with the size/weight. The brick for that PC will be huge/heavy.

You will get better graphics using an AMD A8 or A6 Llano APU

HP make DV6 models with the processor graphics working in a kind of crossfire with a mobile graphics Radeon 7690m chip . This graphics chip is also sold as the Radeon 6750m
The performance is considerably better than the intel /nVidia mentioned above , and the cost a lot less too

The catch is that processor performance is lower , but still more than adequate for most users

Hey, I'm out in the market to buy my gf a laptop too. Can you tell me what model that laptop is? The one we're looking at is the Ideapad Y570. Its similar in specs but has a weaker GPU.

It's the toshiba Qosmio.
We ended up finding a better Qosimo on Newegg for cheaper then what thosiba was selling them for.
$1300 and the Ram went up to 8 and the hard drive up to 1tb plus blue ray player.
