I know the graphics card is not the best but it will more than match what i want it to do. Some light gaming Diablo 3, Battlefield 3 etc.

Also although Ivy Bridge will soon be available for me to but is this still considered a good rig?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am in Australia and may be building this in the next month or so.

Sli: In the future yes

  1. That's a decent build although the power supply is over kill for a single 580 and not near enough for dual 580's. A 650 will suffice just fine for a single 580. Also your lacking a motherboard up there.
  2. ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 MB, LGA1155 Intel Z68

    Must of missed it Woops!

    Is that a good board?

    Corsair TX-650 V2 650W ATX Power $113.00

Will that be a better power supply?
  3. This is my $2500 build from pccasegear.

#EDIT# It's without the monitor though.
  4. Thanks Cam i noticed you had the i7 and I dont really need the hyper threading so the i5 is want i plan on getting.

Also extra cooling do you think it is necessary i have a cpu cooler but not sure on extra case fans? any opinions?

That's a good board. If you wan to save a few more dollars then look at the Asrock extreme3 Pro3. It's the equivalent to that board but it's meant for a single card set up.

If you already have a CPU cooler then I will stick to that but if I were you I would try to fill up all of the case fans spots.

EDIT = I would also go for a Z77 Motherboard.
  7. Get a 7950. Similar priced to 580. Much better however. Even better when overclocked.
  8. It was my understanding that gen 3 boards are IB ready so i thought get a gen3 and when IB is out and i am ready to buy one it wont be a huge issue. am i right in assuming this?
