Nokia 8890 problem...

Hi, I have a problem with my Nokia 8890.

Everythime i start the phone, the phone crashes just before i see my
providers logo. When i say crashes, the screen goes blank and the phone
freezes. The only way to get into the phone is by repeatedly pressing random
buttons while the phone is starting up. I get the same freezing issue when i
try to play certain games or when i try to change some settings on the phone
or when i try to read a message. Lately the phone keeps getting worse as if
it is a virus.

My instincts tell me this is a software issue. Any ideas?
