1st time build - Gaming

I plan on building my first (gaming) Pc. For the past few weeks I have been pricing parts and reading endless reviews and I have come up with an idea of what I might need. My main objective is to build something that would rival the performance and graphics of a console. My plan is as follows:

Asus Maximus IV GENE-Z/GEN-3
Intel Sandybridge i5 2500k
GTX 570 (unsure of which brand to choose)
Corsair 8gb DDR3 Vengenence 1600mhz

I have yet to purchase the above items so I am open to suggestion the only things I have bought are:

Corsair GS800/800watt PSU
EVO LABS EX8818 ATX Case (midi)

If you have any input please share! Thanks.

More about time build gaming
  1. Thanks for your input.
  2. No reason to spend $100 more on a 570 when you'll get the same performance from a GTX 480.

And that setup will give you roughly 4 times the graphics/performance of a PS3/X360.
  3. Ok thanks. Besides the GPU are there any other changes you think should be made? Or anything I should add??
  4. Would it be worthwhile buying an aftermarket heatsink?
  5. CPU?
    Would I need it?
  6. Ok thank you.
