If the GPU wasn't properly seated, it just wouldn't work and therefore shouldn't draw any power (or short anything out). What do you mean by "not inserted properly"? thing1990 August 6, 2012 8:29:31 PM Not fully insterted in PCI Related resources Can I use PCI Express 3.0 GFX Cards with this Motherboard? - Forum Connecting GFX to PSU properly? - Forum Need to add another connector to PSU for GFX card - Forum using a separate PSU for 2nd GFX card - Forum Upgrading GFX card, what PSU do i need? - Forum Can't find your answer ? Anyway, my original comment on it stands. Not properly inserted just means that the card shouldn't even be active to be able to do any harm. I suppose it's possible, in one of those strange "never really happens" occurrences, but I really don't think so. What made you ask this question? Did your PSU die? thing1990 August 6, 2012 8:47:51 PM A PSU Blew in windows loading screen in an old system and the only thing that was messed with previously was the GFX card. Yeah, I doubt the GPU not being correctly installed/seated had anything to do with that. Just a coincidence. thing1990 August 6, 2012 8:52:18 PM The system presented some problems and was not always turning on when pressing the power button ,after the RAM have been checked w memcheck stick by stick DJDeCiBeL a c 76 ) Power supply August 6, 2012 8:53:37 PM Yep, that sounds like the PSU was failing and about to die anyway. thing1990 August 6, 2012 8:54:26 PM Ty 4 info have a nice day/night DJDeCiBeL a c 76 ) Power supply August 6, 2012 8:54:37 PM You're welcome, and you too.
