No those temps are way off, either your fans have failed or blocked up with dust, I'd have your laptop seen to asap.

As stated, those temps are quite bad. The CPU is probably throttling itself to keep itself cool hence degrading performance.

Yes those temps are a lot better, how did you get those temps down? You might be able to get them down some more depending on if you can access the heatpipe that covers the CPU.

Ya those temps came down a lot after the cleaning you gave it, so i guess in a sense it is "optimal" and if you have gained a performance increase from when it was overheating then i'd say it's fine overall. I'm was just saying that you could possibly get them lower by cracking the system open, but that might be more then what you'd like to do.

I personally say that for a Core i5 laptop those are pretty good temps.
