Network cable unplugged

Earlier this morning my internet on my pc was working fine. I unplugged the internet cable from my pc and plugged in into my xbox When I was done playing xbox, I plugged it back into my computer, this is when i noticed that I could not connect to the internet. I turned off my computer and restarted it, still not working. I plugged the same cable back into the xbox and still had connection on the xbox. I've done virus scans, unplugged the modem and re plugged it in but still nothing. There is no internet lights on the back of my computer like there usually is, however, they are there when restarting my computer, but go away once it is booted up.
I am using windows 7 32 bit

If anybody could help or give me suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to do is try another cable even though it's working with the xbox.

Check device manager if the network adapter is installed OK.

disable network connector and then re-enable it may solve your issue
