agree with hang. more info required.

I had a 9800gtx. They are to be feared for how old they are. Spend the extra $3 and get that. Was able to play battlefield3 beta on low settings with it on a 4 core. Supreme commander 2 at max settings.

these cards are becoming so rare thou you might find a modern budget card that is a similar price point with much better performance. The performance gain of a modern card would likely be choked by your older cpu... depends on the game your playing, but worth it.

If yes, it'll be

Pentium Dual Core E5500 2.8ghz
a GB of ddr2 ram
and I'm not sure about the others, but that's all I know atm.

450 is enough to run several decent cards. Still need to know about case size (brand/model of PC will help) and why you picked a 9600gt.

While not a bad card, it's 4 yrs old, you should be able to pick up a much more current card for the same price or maybe a tiny bit more than what you're planning to spend.
