Hello forumreaders,

So I wanted to buy a new Gaming PC which I don't have now and I want a PC which can be upgraded well in the future. I was thinking about this setup:

Case: NZXT Phantom 410
Mobo: Fatal Z68 Professional Gen3
CPU: i5-2500k 3.3 Ghz
RAM: DDR3 4 GB Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz
GPU: I will keep the HD3000 graphics for 1-2 months and then step over to a GTX570
HDD: Didn't really choose which one but I will buy a 500 GB HDD. Also wanted to stick with my old HDD for maybe few months, because of my low budget right now.
PSU: This is the part where I need to ask someone really badly for help. Because I have a SZ-400R PSU right now and I thought that I could use that one till I get my GTX570. Then I thought I need a Corsair 850W PSU? Am I right with that? Can I use my SZ-400R PSU for an i5-2500k 3.3Ghz Build?
Cooler: Arctic Apline 11 Plus, just to start with. I will buy a better one later on ( Probably H100 Watercooling ) and then overclock my 2500k to 4,5Ghz or something like that.

What do you think of this build? Do you think it is going to work out well? Or what do I need to change?

Thanks for your time and will love to see some good Comments!

There is not really any max budget but if I need to say a number I would probably say $1100 ? But I only wanted answer on my question not really what kind of pc I could build with the money I have now.

if you live near a microcenter i would suggest buying the i5 2500k there switch out the z68 mobo for a z77 since i dont think you will be doing anything hardcore i would suggest the mobos $100-$150

if you can try to find the extra space to get 2x4 gb at 1600

you won't need any water cooling for a i5 2500k trust me on this i had one and it was just a waste of money compared to a evo 212(im not saying its the same temps and all that but the 212) if you dont trust me on this at least trust me to stay away from water cooling as you wont need it in your build

if you're not doing sli the bare minimum for psu i would say would be 600-700 watts(it will also take care of the over clock dont worry)

not really necessary but it's just my ocd here but buy some case fans for your case not really a problem but it gets me agitated when i don't have all the fan slots covered for some reason

if your budget allows it buy a 64 gb ssd for boot up

btw since you are probably not ready for the build yet i will say let the month end for i5 3rd gen

Any particular reason to choose such an overkill MB?

Also it would be wiser to purchase a newer PSU now when building the system. Unless you are planning on doing SLI or Crossfire, you do not need 850w. A good 650w PSU will more than suffice for a single 570.

Oke, so I got to get a z77 with i5-2500k and 650W PSU and 2x4 GB 1600Mhz RAM? Does someone really know the precise time when 3rd gen i5 comes on market?
