Which processors to buy around 4 to 5K

Hi guys,
I have a ASUS M2N68-AM PLUS motherboard and amd semprom 140 2.7GHz processor
recently i purchased amd ati radeon 6670hd some games are working smoothly but some asks for minimmum processor requirements.

Do i need to buy one or can i have some other solution?
Which processor will be best suited for my pc?

Ho sorry then.
Yeah a single core cpu is not the best choice for gaming.
It seems that this processor is an am3 socket so if your psu is strong enough you could put an amd athlon II x3 450 rana wich would be a huge upgrade from your old cpu and it only costs 70$
