Brand New Coolermaster PSU not working

So I just got all the parts for the new PC I'm making, and today I put it all together. I've got everything in its right spot and all the cables and in their proper places, but when I tried to turn it on absolutely nothing happened. The PSU didn't even start up. So tried the paperclip trick and even my case fan wouldn't run. Is it dead? Or is this user-error?

Do you have an led on your motherboard that indicates if it is powered or not?

if the paper clip didn't work then its quite possible you have a DOA PSU, contact the supplier for an exchange.

Yeah there is and it wasn't lighting up even all by itself.
