  1. I meant huge difference between 1080p ultra and 720p ultra settings :)
  2. Sorry, but you can't play BF3 on Ultra. You probably could make it 1280x720 and play it on Ultra.. MAYBE.. but definitely not on 1080p.
  3. Upgrade to i5 2500k, HD 7850-7870 and enjoy Ultra @ Full HD.
  4. Yeah definitely not on Ultra. The 7770 is on the lower end of the scale.

Can I butt in and ask a similar Question? I have 2 GTX 560ti OC in SLI (1GB versions) and a Celeron Dual core 2.4Ghz. Would this play BF3 on High settings in single player? I'm holding off on buying it till I get a 3570k (yes I know there's no difference, I've waited 4 months, another 1 won't hurt).
  5. @Pezonator no you could not run it on high in single player, maybe low/lowmedium you could get it to work.

Hey is there great difference between battlefield 3 ultra 1080p and 720p ultra settings?
  7. The CPU is good enough for ultra settings, as you can see here

You would need to upgrade to 7850 for playing in ULTRA.
For big multiplayer maps a quad core processor would be better , so you can also get a FX4100 instead of i3 because all processors give the same results but a quad core which is unlocked is more future proof.
The FX4100 performs better than the FX8150.
The perfomance of FX8150 can be seen in this:

If you go with AMD build your mobo would cost less.

    Ultra:
    GTX 480
    GTX570
GTX 560Ti (including the 448 version)
    7850
    7870
    Ultra with MSAA:
    GTX 480
    GTX 580
    GTX 560Ti 2GB SLi
    7870
    7950.

Just a few cards that can handle 1080p ultra with and without MSAA.

MSAA put's large demand on Vram.

You forgot to add the 6850,6870,6970,6950

an fx4100 is not a true quad core, in "theory" it is a bit better than a hyper threaded core but is still shares resources between pairs of what amd calls bulldozer cores, although the phenoms and thubians etc were true to there core count. but the the i3 is better for games in general end of story! amd motherboards arent cheaper for similar spec motherboards, people just recycle there motherboards over and over again. the only amd stuff i agree with is that a 4100 is better than an 8150, because you dont waste so much money on a bulldozer. your i3 is a good choice for a budget "gaming" cpu, but if you can stretch your budget i would definately suggest getting an i5, you may not be able to overclock the non k's but they still will quite happily keep up with someone thats wringing there bulldozers neck for every mhz they can squeeze out of it! you will probably get close to ultra on 720p with the rig you first mentioned, happy gaming :kaola:

    Is that in order?
