I5 2400 vs phenom II 1090t

i need to build new pc and here where i am my only option is 1090t or i5 2400 i am not a gamer i want to use the pc for adobe creative master. video card is gtx 550 TI superclocked. who is better ?

Tuff call. I would say the i5 would win out in all but a few cases like heavy rendering or encoding that could use the extra cores of the 1090.

edit - I dont think you'd notice much of a difference in small workloads like homework or school projects.

I don't think you'd notice much of a difference in anything honestly. The 1090T is a cool CPU, while not quite as powerful in individual core performance as a 2400 (even with it overclocked) its still a neat little toy and worth considering.
