No tv signal

Hello,
i have a toshiba satellite pro on windows 7< tv is a sony bravia 32" i have bought a cable hdmi male to svga vga, i cant get any picture on the tv as its not detecting and output........ can anyone help?

so you are going from the HDMI out of the computer to the vga in on the TV? Or is it VGA out from computer to hdmi in to TV?

Either way that wont work, you cant convert hdmi to vga with out an active adapter of some sort. In some cases you can convert dvi to vga or dvi to HDMI.

I recomend hdmi on the computer to the tv or VGA on the computer to the TV.
