No Singal Grahpics Card!!?

Ok i bought a ATI RADEON HD 4870. Has to DVI PORTS on it. when i plug it in the fans spins on the Card and Makes Loud Noises. but when i Plug IN the DVI cable to card and VGA to Monitor No Signal? i have the asus m4a88t-m Motherboard but when i remove the Card and use my onboard graphics i get a signal.. i went into Bios and disabled onboard graphics and disabled it device manager so what could be the problem?

Can you boot into Safe Mode using the GPU for the display?

Have another computer you can test it out in?

No when ever i put the NEW grahpics card in i get No signal so i cannot boot into bios or see anything but when i remove card i can no i do not have another computer i can test on

why are you connecting DVI to the card and VGA to the monitor....

Yes, please specify what type of connections your using.

wut do you mean you are suppose to connect DVI to grahpic card and VGA cable to monitor....

im using a cord that has 1 side VGA and other DVI... DVI COnnected to Card and VGA to monitor...

Ok I see.Do you have another cord that you can test?Otherwise I'm going to say that your card is defective and your probably going to have to RMA it.

No i do Not so im just guessing the Card is dead

If you don't have any other way to test the card then you'll have to RMA it.
