PSU: PC Power & Cooling Silencer MKII 950W - $149.99 ($20.00 MIR)
Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 - $169.99
CPU: 3.30GHz Intel Core i5-2500K - $219.99
Cooler: Cooler Master TPC 12 - $69.99
RAM: 8GB Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 1333MHz 1.5V - $42.99
SSD: Crucial m4 64GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148441 - $84.99
HD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda ST - $99.99
Optical: LG Blu Ray Burner - $79.99
Video Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 680 - $499.99

I am just wondering if I should upgrade to an ivy bridge processor. I still do not really know the pros of doing so and I would be grateful if someone offered their opinion on the matter

Not necessarily. But get a good price on the 2500k; microcenter has the benchmark price of $179.99 last time I checked, but it's in stores only. I found some used non k cpus for half price on my local craigslist recently. I'm surprised newegg doesn't have ivy bridge yet; maybe next sunday?
