We'll also need your power supply info including, wattage, 12V rating in amps, and how many 6-pin PCIe connectors you have if any. If you're lacking PCIe connectors, how many 4-pin molex connectors do you have extra in your system?

Assuming your PSU is good enough, with your current system and budget you can get into a decent GTX 560, or a budget oriented 560 Ti. On the AMD side I'd look for a nice used HD 5870, or a new HD 6850. All of these cards will require 2 x 6-pin PCIe connectors or 4 x molex connectors. The AMD card will probably run around $150-175, and is the best deal performance per dollar wise. It offers the equivalent of GTX 560 Ti ($200-250) performance at GTX 560 ($150-175) pricing.

The brands of PSU's to choose from should be Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, and XFX for starters. Your MOBO does have a PCIe x 16. Here are a couple of links to some of the PSU's thar are good.

The GTX 460 is a good card but it is on its way out. I would get the card that was suggested above and that would be the 6850. It will play all the games do movies etc. It is a good card. Third link is a 6850. Good luck to ya.

If you want to buy AMD now, you can get Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, OCZ and XFX PSU at least 500W. Get a 6850. If you want to get nVidia now, your best is 460, we know it's old, but still it's the best for you if you want to get 460. 6850 is better, but since you like nVidia then 460 is your choice. However you can wait for kepler if you really really want to get nVidia... There should be a $150 card which will be good for you and not overkill for your monitor resolution and CPU :).

for 550w get the xfx 550w psu which is good powersupply has the easy rail technology.

and for graphic card buy the hd 6850 which is good enough for your system gaming and your monitor resolution you can max all games with that card and will get about 35-50 fps in my opinion.

for gpu(graphic card)

Must admit I'd say a 6850 was overkill for 1366x768 res, but I guess it gives scope for a later monitor upgrade.

I have an Asus 6850 (at 1920x1080). Very nice card, highest temp I've ever seen is 67 degrees, 34-ish at idle. And not noisy (well, not compared to my PSU fan).
