I have recently purchased Photoshop elements 3 and have dicovered the
manual that comes with it is meagre and does not seem to cover basic
editing features like how to eliminate someone from a photo and put
someone else in the photo. I notice that there are a number of books
available on using Photoshop elements at around $50 each. Can anyone
recommend the best of these?
Is there a newsgroup devoted specifically to Photoshop elements?

If you want to find some books a bit more reasonably priced, try here;

Fry's electronics has one for 25.00 with a 25.00 rebate.

Be very careful to have everything "just so" for a Frys rebate.
Compared to Costco, they are a right royal pain in the ass.

I am a great fan of Scott Kelby's "The Photoshop Elements Book For
Digital Photographers" as a task-oriented guide to most of the image
manipulation tasks you'll want to do, and his "Photoshop Elements 3 Down
And Dirty Tricks" which concentrates on things to do with images after
you've got them looking good.

My favrites are "The Hidden Power of Photoshop Elements 3" (which
comes with a set of tools that make PSE3 a lot like PS CS2) and "The
Photoshop Elements 3 Book for Digital Photographers". The first a bit
more technical and the second more hands on. The tools are worth the
price of the book.

Yes, but there is little activity. You're better off here.
