Buying a new monitor–can my GPU support it?

Hey there guys,

I am currently planning to purchase a new monitor. I have set my eyes on a BenQ G2420HDB, but I've been wondering whether my GPU can properly support a resolution of 1920x1080. I run a GeForce 7300 GT. I tried searching, but all I've got is that it will most likely support it. I would, however, want to be certain about it. I will be getting a new rig this summer, but I'd like to get the monitor as soon as possible (due to various reasons), so it's kind of important.

Thank you for your time.

  1. Yes, it will run that monitor at that resolution. I do want to stress if you're plan on gaming, that card will not handle games very well.
  2. I'm not really into gaming. I'll do some RPGs once I get a new rig (hopefully once AMD's Southern Islands become available in my country), but nothing more. I know quite well that I can't do any gaming with my current setup (the rest of it isn't very nice either).

Thank you very much for your assistance.
  3. Well it should run with the newest drivers from nVidia and make sure you use Dual DVI.
