Of course they do :-)
But... do you want to use the panorama feature?

If they are branded "Olympus" they are not Fuji, and vice
versa. I think the confusion is because both make cameras
that use xD cards so the cards will interchange, but...

They'll both all work to store images, only the genuine
Olympus cards will give you the panorama feature.

It's my understanding that the panorama feature is nothing more than a
series of superimposed lines in the viewfinder (also on the LCD?) that
serve as a guide for reasonable overlap of shots to enable any
panorama software to make a decent panorama.
Usually, I see a 30% (approximate) overlap as sufficient; I can do
that without any guides, easily.
I really don't know if that feature of the card is necessary for the
Genuine Olympus Software to succesfully make a panorama, because I've
never used the Genuine Olympus Software, despite having owned 3
Genuine Olympus Cameras. I do know that this feature is not necessary
for any other pano software to work.
A Google search on "free panorama software" (sans quotes) will list
several free pano apps; take you rpick.
So, IMO, forget using Genuine Olympus cards; it's extra cost for no
essential extra features.

With Olympus xD cards you can go into the menu and select the
Panorama mode. When Fuji xD cards are used, you can see the
Panorama option in the menu, but it can't be selected.

Thanks Bill (I like your neat 'replace g with a' bye the way)
I have a 32mb card with the camera.
It gave me the lines and all that.
When I used the Olympus software I went to the 'panorama' tab. Loaded in the
inages, clicked 'Stitch' and they all joined perfectly!!
I'm not sure about the other pano software as I've not ever used it, does
this do the same? Or is the Olympic stuff a bit different in this aspect.
Thanks for your time.

Hi Nick...
I guess I'm in much the same boat as you; with the one
included genuine Olympus card - and several large cheaper
generic ones.
My workaround, if it's helpful to you, is to use the large
cards for everyday normal picture taking, reserving
the smaller Oly card only for pano's. Means changing
cards occasionally, but...

I've used Panorama Factory for a long time.
It's pretty simple: load the images (in the right order, naturally),
and tell it to make a panorama. Simple. There are options, of course.
Most such pay apps have free trial periods. Download a few, and see
what you like. Or, try some freeware.
If you can use Oly's pano app, you can use any of them.

From what I have read on this newsgroup before:
The cards are the same, but there is a manufacturer field on the card which
gets transferred to the jpg. The Olympus software reads this field and
disables the panorama function if the field doesn't say Olympus. I believe
there is a hack out there somewhere that changes the field in jpg so that
the panorama function doesn't disable; but I haven't used it.

I don't think so, unless some Olympus cameras work differently
than others. As I mentioned in another message, the panorama
function is disabled _in_the_camera_ when non-Olympus brand xD cards
are used, such as Fuji's. The whole point of the panorama function
is to have the camera set up guide lines in the display to aid the
accurate positioning of each of the panorama's shots.
