First time builder, thanks for any help in advance...
Started trying to build my computer yesterday using http://www.buildacomputerguide.com/ as my guide... Everything seemed to be going just fine until step 14 when the power supply wouldnt boot up... I have used the paperclip test to get the PSU to work, so I think it's an issue elsewhere, but not sure where...
At no time while hooked up to the motherboard will the PSU run... While possibily unrelated, the CPU fan will also not run... Is there a way to test the CPU or Motherboard to see if its an issue with either of them? I had read a suggestion to just try to connect the PSU, CPU and motherboard and see if they would boot but no luck...
My PSU is a ANTEC 650W, the CPU is the AMD FX 8150 and the motherboard is an ASUS M5A97 AMD 9 series with the AM3+ socket...
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I spent about 10 hours on this yesterday and 4 hours or so today and am at my wits end running out of ideas...
